 There are various picnic sites along the A 716 from Sandhead, overlooking Luce Bay You can reach Back Bore and walk along Cairngarroch Bay by turning right at Drummore harbour. There is a picnic area with easy access to the beach at the south end of Cairngarroch Bay. Drummantrae, with its stony beach where the fishing is good – Terally where the rock formations are beautiful - and Kilstay where there is a safe beach. Drummore Bay can be reached via the A716 from Sandhead, going into Drummore and turning left at the T junction, and left again into to Shore Street. This sandy beach is a safe one, with a view of Drummore Harbour. |
