Follow the A716 from Sandhead. On the south side of Ardwell, whilst still being in the 40 mph road limit, you will find an attractive picnic site on your left.

There is ample parking pace here, along with picnic tables and toilet. This picnic area is next to the beach.

You will see excellent views across Luce Bay towards the Machars, and in the distance you will see the Galloway Hills.
