Easter fun at the Mull of Galloway

Easter Weekend at the Mull of Galloway-page-001Join us for lots of fun family events including storytelling, arts and crafts and lots more on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th April 2015.

The lighthouse and lighthouse exhibition will be open from 10am until 4pm on Saturday and Sunday (last entry to the top of the tower is 3.30pm). The lighthouse will open for the season on Friday 3rd April and will be open daily over the Easter school holidays until Sunday 19th April.
RSPB visitor centre is open daily from 10am and staff and volunteers are on site to chat to you about wildlife events throughout the year.
Gallie Craig coffee house is open daily from 10am until 5.30pm.

Saturday 4th April

The fun starts at 11am until 4pm – We have Arty Crafty Workshops with Easter painting crafts and Talk Of The Town Events joining us with sand art, balloon modelling, glitter tattoos, candy floss and snowy cones. There will be Easter face painting and a prize for the best Easter bonnet!
Renita Boyle – Tell It Together will be story telling in the RSPB building from 1pm until 3pm. Come along in your newly decorated Easter bonnet and listen to the story about the “Mad March Hare” and join in the fun. At the end of the stories there will be an Easter parade to the lighthouse where Renita will choose the best three Easter bonnets and award a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize to the winners. Thank you to Morrisons Supermarket in Stranraer for kindly donating chocolate eggs as prizes and Rickwood House, guest house in Portpatrick for donating the first prize.

Sunday 5th April

From 10am until 4pm – We will be joined by the “Rainbow Dolls” who will be providing arts and crafts activities, storytelling and lots more. The first of our 2015 Mull of Galloway Crafts Markets will take place too with craft stalls in the RSPB building and on the lawn by the lighthouse – our local crafts people will be selling their hand crafted items – hand knitted baby clothes, cards and stationery, ribbon flowers, knitting and crochet, handmade soaps, jewellery, cushions, embroidery and lots more. We also have Easter face painting and an Easter egg hunt.
